Weird argument from a Democratic friend about Trump's EO on sports

Sometimes I'm just stopped in my tracks when I talk to my fellow Democrats who have swallowed the trans kool-aid. Today a friend said that what's wrong with Trump's EO is: "It's one way, and that is unfair. It bans transgenders in women's sports but not men's sports." After I pointed out that "the order bans MALES in women's sports, not trans athletes; FTM athletes are still welcome in women's sports" I asked "why FTMs need to be banned from men's sports. No one has complained about FTMs because they aren't making a dent anywhere in the world of men. The two situations do not mirror each other.' And her reply was that the EO, by saying only women's sports needs protection, is casting women as vulnerable helpless creatures and Republicans as their great protectors and she finds that false and offensive.

I must say this was a new one to me, though I have noticed before that lefty women can get upset by any attention to the athletic difference between men and women. They don't want to hear, for instance, that the best women's basketball player in the world would never make an NBA roster. They think Serena Williams would be competitive in the men's division even though Williams tried it and got trounced years ago.

Next time I think I'll go for my boxer analogy: "If I say that the best lightweight boxer in the world will never beat the best middleweight, have I insulted the lightweight boxers of the world? Of course not. It is ok and necessary to be aware of strength differences in sports categories."
