The US district judge Royce Lamberth in Washington on Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order, ruling late on Tuesday that Trump’s order discriminates against transgender people and violates their constitutional rights.

The bureau must “maintain and continue the plaintiffs’ housing status and medical care as they existed immediately prior to January 20”, he wrote.

Big surprise that a male judge doesn't see the problem with locking female inmates in cages with male rapists and killers

The judge said the trans women had “straightforwardly demonstrated that irreparable harm will follow” if they are denied healthcare and forced into men’s institutions.

What about the irreparable harm of a female inmate getting raped and impregnated? This has ALREADY HAPPENED in multiple prisons that housed TIMs (or men claiming to be TIMs). I would say that a child being brought into existence via prison rape is a big fucking deal

US officials “have not so much as alleged that the plaintiffs in this particular suit present any threat to the female inmates housed with them”, the judge added. The family of one plaintiff said her life would be threatened if she were moved.

Ah, so potential threats don't matter when women are worried about them. But they are solid facts when a man pretending to be a woman is worried about them.

Male prisons have protective custody for at risk inmates. TIMs can go there and live with the pedophiles, snitches, and incarcerated former cops

The judge said there were only 16 trans women housed in women’s facilities, and the ruling applies to all of them.

ONE is too many!!

Last week, trans women across US prisons shared accounts of a brutal crackdown following Trump’s order, reporting that they had been placed in solitary confinement awaiting transfers, lost access to healthcare and were harassed and taunted by guards.

Staff at Federal Medical Center (FMC) Carswell, a US women’s prison in Texas that houses people with special medical needs, took swift actions within days of the new administration, attorneys said. One resident reported that officers went to trans women’s cells one by one and ordered them out.

"The officers yelled at these women: ‘Come right now, leave your things. You don’t have time to pack,’” said the resident, who witnessed the interactions and requested anonymity. “The officials were degrading them and saying disgusting things, like: ‘We don’t have to call you women anymore. Where you’re going, you’re going to be a man.’”

Boo hoo. My empathy is reserved for the incarcerated women who had to put up with these scrotes all this time. My empathy is reserved for female inmates and staff who were forced to pretend that these dudes were females or face disciplinary action.

Karma is a TERF

They had been housed in women’s units for months or years until January, when they were removed from the general population of women’s prisons and segregated with other transgender women to await transfers to men’s facilities.

OH NO! They were placed with other trans-women!! What a nightmare!!! 🤣

“They were terrified at the prospect of these transfers given the serious risk of violence and sexual assault that they face in these men’s facilities,” the Glad attorney Jennifer Levi told the judge.

Wow! Being imprisoned with men is dangerous!!?? Who knew?

Again, they can isolate these men if they refuse to remove their lady costumes in the men's prison. The solution isn't letting them into female facilities

Transvestite rapists put with other male criminals, oh noes.

It was the responsibility of the Trump side to make the case, or even compellingly introduce the issue, that housing trans women in women’s prisons risks harm to women. They didn’t. This is on them, and demonstrates the risk of leaving female rights and needs in the hands of Trump.

Shouldnt other transwomen be thr safest place for them?

After all! Trans women would never hurt women!

I was thinking a while back about women’s prisons and TIMs in them. After WWII, we signed the Geneva Convention, and a section stated that POW camps had to separate men and women. Women should have their own sleeping areas, restrooms and showers. Now, maybe I’m being ignorant—always a possibility—but why wouldn’t PRISONER of War prisons apply to the prisons of the countries who signed? American prisons are allowing men in women’s prisons—violating women’s rights to safety, privacy and dignity. I know this is not a war situation, but I would be interested in anyone out there with a legal background giving your opinion. Can the two be equated?

pennygadgetFebruary 9, 2025

This has always bothered me as well. Housing males and females together would be a war crime if we did it to literal terrorists. But not when we do it to some woman who is in jail for shoplifting or check fraud

LillithFebruary 9, 2025

Oh, I think the Geneva Convention would be overruled for a crossdressing terrorist, if it's any consolation.

LadylucyFebruary 9, 2025

😂😂😂 Thanks! You are, of course, correct. Silly me!

These assholes only think rape is bad when it happens to a man.

Housing men in women’s prisons is such cruel and unusual punishment that the Geneva Convention outlaws it.

ErMaGawd -- that may be THE most disgusting thing I've ever heard! 🤣🤣🤣

From what I’ve heard, the Trump admin legal team agrees with the judge (risk of harm to the trans women). And the Trump team failed to argue harm to the female inmates (justifying transfer of trans women). This is precisely the thing that worries about leaving this battle in the hands of the Trump admin and EOs - I don’t trust them to mount a cogent case. They certainly didn’t here.

OneStarWolfFebruary 9, 2025

Why wasn’t there a judicial block to stop these assholes from being put in to the women’s prisons from the very beginning? Like wtf? No one cared???

And now they’re being blocked when sanity says to fix it and return them to keep women safe. What a joke.

Put these male bastards back in their prisons and have them petition for protective wards just like any other vulnerable males might have to. Mentally ill men in prison are no more special or vulnerable than any other weak man in prison.

fistcityFebruary 9, 2025

Boo-hoo, a bunch of rapists and potential rapists can't impregnate vulnerable, trapped women. I'm crying. With laughter. Enjoy your new home, boys!

Iota_AurigaeFebruary 9, 2025

I uh, think you should re-read the title
