The Editorial Board of the NY Times has committed to the supremacy of transgender rights in their opinion piece America Will Regret Trump's Attacks on Transgender Citizens paywalled Archived Trump’s Shameful Campaign Against Transgender Americans
The keyword in the editorial page title is shame Once again we are reminded that we should feel shame for questioning the rights, aka demands, of these vulnerable and yet venerable "marginalized" people.
Some of the most deplorable episodes in U.S. history involve the government wielding the power of the state against minority groups: Black people, Indigenous people and gay people, to name just a few. Though these campaigns might have received popular support at the time, history has consistently judged them as immoral, illegal and un-American.
There are some issues — such as participation in sports and appropriate medical care for minors — that remain fiercely debated, even by those who broadly support trans rights. There should be room for those conversations.
These "issues" have been debated and TRAs have failed to convince Americans that their stances make any sense at all.
But what shouldn’t be debated is whether the government should target a group of Americans to be stripped of their freedom and dignity to move through the world as they choose.
Exactly how women feel about their rights being stripped away by men wearing women-face.
So it was especially dispiriting, and symbolically important, that another of the new president’s executive orders aimed to oust openly transgender soldiers from the armed services and bar others from joining. In this move Mr. Trump took aim both at people who have put their lives on the line for their nation and at an institution that has historically played a critical role in debates over the recognition and integration of minorities.
Americans are aware that transgender military personnel don't serve in combat zones and so unlike most soldiers they do not put their lives on the line.
Mr. Trump’s targeting of transgender Americans will go far beyond the military.
Does anyone else see this? If Trump prevents Medicaid and ACA insurers from covering medical transitioning, and the military no longer foots the bill for trans IDing soldiers BigPharma and the medical industries are going to be spitting mad. Some say that foster children were being targeted and if Trump's EOs are followed the $70,000 for puberty blockers might not be paid for. The NYT--not even a fig leaf

Waking Beauty by Dawn K Lake! it's very fairy-tale like, very positive, no sex scenes, with great characters and barely any men.
