RantAnother Lesbian Series Ruined
I have someone coming over tomorrow night and thought that it would be cute if I found a lesbian film or series to watch.
I found that a series that was first started in 2018 had a further three series made. It was an ‘authentic’ lesbian series in the beginning, or somewhat, with a lesbian being in charge of the filming for the most part.
I’m on the final episode of the final series… and of course, they transed one of the lesbian characters in the wedding scene.
So frustrating that even when made by lesbians, the story seem to have an unhappy ending - they either end up with a man, die or now… they get turned into a ‘man’.
I think this was the fate of many lesbian series like The L Word. Eventually, they became "queer" shows that celebrated lesbian characters turning themselves into "straight trans-men". Because conversion therapy is fine as long as it involves hormone drugs and plastic surgery! 🙄
How people don’t see that as “problematic” I don’t know.
