RantGhoulish appropriation- or… how you can always tell
There’s a video on Reddit of a man “experiencing period pain” with one of those electrical currant machines and with it comes the usual slew of men joking and talking about wanting to try it out etc etc, as well as women sharing their experiences.
Along the way I noticed a user with a female name and avatar post “ What are the best ways to cope with severe period pain/ how do I support friends who are going through it?”
Now I know there are women who don’t experience period pain but immediately I knew this was a TIM. And sure enough when I checked the profile straight away it’s full of trans nonsense.
Not only can you always tell IRL and online, but the weird creepy curiosity and info gathering is sickening. You can tell this dude is asking either to get info to do a bit of skin walking, or so he can bother his poor female friends and interfere with them while they’re trying to rest and relax and get away from the pain. My skin crawls imagining what the poor women in this man’s life will have to put up with if he finds out they’re on their period.
I wish all bad things upon these foul men.

God forbid these coddled baby men feel one second of mild discomfort for any reason. But they want the validation from pretending. I wish all bad things up on them too. God they fucking suck. He wants to know more details so he can claim them and post about his period problems. Gross.
So much of this seems reminiscent of Factitious Disorder (a.k.a. Munchhausens). The "mimicry" aspect, the attention seeking, the procurement of medically unnecessary treatment (i.e. TIMs do not need ob/gyn services some seek, etc). But also this creeping around others in order to present the suffering of others as their own is particularly gross.
If anyone watched the recent Belle Gibson show or documentary, she befriended a kid dying of brain cancer as a teenager and then later a family with a dying child... seemingly in order to appropriate their symptoms. It's particularly invasive and gives me the same creeps as TIM appropriating women's struggles and suffering like a skinsuit. (Obviously not a perfect metaphor--being a woman is not having cancer, but I think I've made the point.)
You've put into words the feeling I've had about it for a while. I actually only started finding out about the trans insanity because I was an avid reader of the munchausens thread over on the farms. Always been struck by the similarities between the two types of people. All cluster b, all malingering manipulators, all valour /sympathy stealers, just different types of valour they like to steal. All getting their dupers delight from domination and control, and avoidance of responsibility. I guess the perversion is the difference, because most munchies are women and thus less depraved in that specific sexual context.
I’ve started to get a sixth sense about it, too, for both TIFs and TIMs, which is interesting because, in contrast to the general opinion on these boards, I think some of them do pass well enough. But more and more, there is some kind of tell. I suppose it’s like detecting art counterfeits.
