Hi I am so sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I am fairly new to this site and I apologize if I am missing some things, I am 100% a new gal in this site and I am glad to be here but hopefully if this belongs somewhere else on the site, please let me know so I can fix it : - )
I am a gender critical feminist for a while now for longer than 2 years and I had a bad experience growing up feeling I was trans and thankfully I am no longer in that headspace. I am much more mentally strong now that I’ve found radical/gender critical feminism. I feel a lot more comfortable now that I left my trans side behind. But I need therapy, because I have experienced assault by a guy (who lied about being trans) and have a lot of PTSD from it. I’m not gonna go into the whole story cause it’s very complicated but I can share later in a different thread/area on this site if needed. It’s a crazy story.
so for that reason, I tried to find therapy to help me recover. I cannot seem to find a therapist who I can talk to who will listen to my concerns and be open minded to my more gender critical lens.
Basically what I’m trying to ask is, does anyone have any recommendations for therapists who are women, gender critical or least open minded to thinking in a gender critical framework?
Location doesn’t really matter. Unfortunately I am from New York city and a lot of people here are crazy/delusional about this type of thing. Or extremely opinionated. It sucks, but it’s my reality at the moment. If you have recommendations for therapists in other states that’s fine with me. I could do virtual so it’s all good.
Thank you so much! Again I'm sorry if this is not the correct place to post questions - please feel free to let me know and I’ll fix it— also nice to meet you all on here : - ) 🎵
