This is something that I wish would come up more often (Exulansic is the only popular GC person who has spoken about it). Genderwoo is damaging for a ton of reasons. But one of the more frustrating aspects is how it completely ignores the needs and limitations of the disabled in dealing with this shit.
Laws against "misgendering" are grossly abelist because it's objectively harder for disabled folks to keep up with this nonsense.
People who are hard of hearing or deaf might not be able to understand someone's pronoun declarations (especially if their primary language is sign). And a blind person wont be able to see their co-worker's they/them pin or their clothing; so they can only go by how their voices sound when assuming their pronouns
A person who is older or has memory issues doesn't have the bandwidth to memorize everyone's special pronouns (ESPECIALLY if said pronouns can change on a whim without warning). Hell, I can barely remember the names of people at the office if I don't interact with them regularly. Having to ALSO memorize pronouns would be a goddam nightmare. Older folks are already at a higher risk of employment discrimination and being fired because they're expensive to keep around. And I wouldn't put it past an employer to use a pronoun faux pas as an excuse to boot an older employee so they can replace them with someone younger (and cheaper)
And then there's the issue of developmental delays for things like down syndrome, learning disabilities, language delays, etc. That is yet another group that struggles with employment (and I'm sure many employers wouldn't mind a policy that makes it easier to fire them as well)
And, while this isn't technically a disability, pronoun mandates will also disproportionately hurt workers who don't speak English fluently.
We've already seen one autistic teenage boy get charged with fines and house arrest for asking a TIF Cop, "Are you a boy or a girl?". And, to nobody's surprise, the normally anti-cop TRA/Woke Crowd had nothing to say about a police officer pressing charges against an autistic teenager over hurt feelings. And I can't help but wonder how many other disabled people faced legal consequences for offending a gender-special and we just didn't hear about it because nobody gives a shit when disabled people suffer.
