Punished for existing? Let's stick to the facts. These men were punished for committing a crime. Rewarding them by allowing them to live with imprisoned women sends the wrong message, one would think. They ought to spend their time behind bars reflecting on what they did so they don't relapse once released, not leering at female prisoners and demanding female prison staff pat them down for a bit of added excitement. How can people not see how unbelievably creepy and inappropriate this is? Not to mention dangerous considering the number of trans identified males who are serving time for sex crimes.

Honestly male on male violence is vastly overstated in Prison, most that does occur is the money/drug related gang violence that happens on the outside too. The idea that prisoners suddenly want to become terrorists who commit lots of ideologically motivated hate crimes upon incarceration is vastly overstated, most convicts get arrested for self-interested crimes where they want material gain.
While working with a halfway-house I met an old white man with a disfiguring skin condition that made him look monstrous (like a purple wart birthmark covered over half his face). I later discovered he was a convicted pedophile rapist (which should have been disclosed to me to begin with). This short, old, monstrous looking White man survived almost two decades in Maryland prisons, without suffering any attacks serious enough to further disfigure or cripple him. If male prisoners won't attack that guy through ideological motivation I doubt they give a dam about TIMs
