Warning: Reddit is cracking down again. Just got a 7 day block
Posted March 12, 2025 by hard_headed_woman in GenderCritical

It looks like several posters may have been blocked on "Blocked and Reported" (of all places LOL).

I've been wondering when that was going to happen.

Lol I got banned from fauxmoi yesterday for asking why women aren't allowed to have female single sex spaces on their post about the gym owner.

Ave_Lucifugegender atheistMarch 12, 2025

That sub is so disappointing. They were always pro trans, but were also highly critical of sex work, to the point where at times I felt like I was reading fourthwavewomen, and was hopeful I was watching an online culture shift in real time. Then 10/7 happened and everything went to shit. Can't center women when you have terrorist/rapists to cry over, I guess.

ArenlaefMarch 12, 2025

fauxmoi is going down with the ship. I wouldn't expect them to come around any time soon or even answer basic questions like yours.

encompleteMarch 15, 2025

All of my accounts have now been fully banned. They've warned me they'll find me if I try to evade their ban again! Lol

suupersamiMarch 12, 2025

The reinstitution of banning GC views seems like an extinction burst. I've noticed a lot more commenters, especially in more moderate subs, being openly critical of gender woo with a ton of upvotes. Reddit tried to suppress that as much as possible, but they're going to go over the top to try to snuff out any wrongthink.

plantiMarch 12, 2025

i try as much as i can to be that person, but i recently got my first warning from reddit lol

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

I figured that reddit would disable downvotes to protect the trans people. But I guess they decided to become more aggressive with bans instead

applepickinMarch 12, 2025

I'm pretty sure they've done that, too. I've found my downvotes often disappear as soon as I reload the page. It might be only when you reach a thread though someone's profile though, I have better luck when downvoting when I enter a thread from the subreddit.

limoncelloMarch 13, 2025

I've noticed the same thing, particularly over web instead of the app in the last 3 weeks.

Do note, though, that Reddit does vote fuzzing as a defense against voting bots. That is to say that your vote doesn't immediately count toward the comment's score. Without knowing for certain, the explanation that makes sense to me is that the appearance of downvotes not sticking is a bug in separating the vote count in the UI from the actual vote count that is eventually persisted. It just makes it much more obvious that they are doing this.

Dressed2K1llMarch 12, 2025

Hahaha my brother in law got banned for the first time today for suggesting that trans activism takes up a disproportionate amount of news coverage.😂

AnonymousWomanMarch 13, 2025

I got banned for saying : "I respectfully disagree" to a post stating that JKR is harming women and that the women who agree with her are bigots.

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

Wow. Thats all it takes now?

The AGP bros who run reddit must be shitting their pants in the wake of Trump's victory. So they're becoming more draconian with the bans to maintain their hugbox

DurableBookMarch 12, 2025

I long since stopped posting on Reddit but I know they recently rolled out a policy that will ban based on voting, guess it's only a matter of time for me.

Although I do make a point to upvote trans people for visibility as well, like when the greasy trans males post pictures of their bulges in women's fashion subs or all the charming "trans lesbian" cock talk in the lesbian subs, so perhaps I'll be safe.

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

I'm not surprised. Downvotes and upvotes were the only form of silent/anonymous protest that users had

Iota_AurigaeMarch 12, 2025

So... if you downvote someone - literally using the voting system for its intended purpose - you can get banned? Am I understanding that right?

octopopcornopolisMarch 13, 2025

Damn banning for upvotes.

momofreyrellaMarch 12, 2025

Holy shit thats crazy

EternalDarkBlueMarch 12, 2025

I guess if I get got any time soon I’ll know why😂😭 these people are so ridiculous. Meanwhile, actual violence, misogyny, racism, etc. runs rampant 🙄 but-but fwee speech and no kinkshaming!!!!

ArenlaefMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 12, 2025)

I don't have a reddit account anymore, but I'm surprised the powermods have let Blocked and Reported stay up as long as it has. It's not even like a shitposting sub like redscarepod. There are some genuine gender critical conversations happening there and even though the actual podcast hosts never "misgender" anyone I feel like a lot of the commenters do.

I wouldn't be surprised if reddit comes for them soon. Can't have unapproved conversations happening somewhere on violent porn infested reddit!

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

I'm surprised it stayed for this long as well. Mainly because of how much gender cultists hate Jesse Singal

shewolfoffrance🦕March 12, 2025

My working theory is that they hate him because he's a secular liberal who's meticulous in his research and goes out of his way to be fair. If he wrote for conservative publications or made Christianity part of his personal brand, they wouldn't care as much. It would easier to just write him off as a bigot.

Jack_the_LassMarch 12, 2025

Its the same reason why left-wing women not putting up with trans bullshit is so incredibly offensive and why "TERF" is the OG slur for women who don't play that game. We're supposed to be one of them! Though its always worse when a woman does it.

pegasusknightMarch 13, 2025

What’s sad is redscarepod got brigaded by tras (including a tra mod) and ruined the whole vibe.

LizardQMarch 12, 2025

It shocks me too, especially since that sub has gender woo believers who have bragged about running crying to the admins. So I know they're aware of it. I wonder why it's still allowed to stay around.

vulvapeopleMarch 12, 2025

Maybe banning Blocked and Reported is a little too on the nose even for Reddit mods.

pegasusknightMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 13, 2025)

B&r is supposed to be one of the few “secret” places on Reddit where wrong think is (sort of) allowed*. But occasionally a TIM seemed to wander in and fight with everyone. I’ll bet that subreddit got posted in a TIM discord and brigaded with reports.

*there seem to be a lot of “true trans”/“trans medicalists” there as well but even that is wrong think Reddit standards.

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

The podcast is growing in popularity and Singal & Herzog are fairly well known at this point. So that sub wasn't going to be left alone for long

SonnetMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 12, 2025)

https://www.reddit.com/appeals

I had a permanent ban overturned within twenty-four hours with a “whoops, our bad” message after making a rule-abiding gender-critical comment just a couple months ago.

I am pretty scrupulous about playing by the rules on Reddit, but if you feel you have been banned in error, you can appeal from the banned account.

lskiMarch 12, 2025

Me too. Two bans, two near instant overturns of said ban. Comments reinstated both times too.

SonnetMarch 12, 2025

We’ve known that Reddit admins are biased in favor of gender ideology, but to me this suggests there is at least one paid admin - or maybe a few - who is, at this point, trying to shut down the conversation even in excess of what Reddit requires. It’s no longer clear that the top of Big Reddit is highly motivated to lock down the echo-chamber even though individual ideologues remain.

Motivation to keep speaking up.

lskiMarch 13, 2025

Even though they had to get rid of him, I am sure Aimee Challenor still has some friends among the admins.

r/ukpolitics was the last sub to hand me a ban for twansphobia which is ironic given they were the sub that brought the employment and actions of Aimee to sitewide attention!

GenevieveMarch 12, 2025

I got a few comments deleted that weren't 100% trans-friendly. I purposely tried to keep some comments neutral so that I could maybe start a discourse, but man, what a ride.

Even something tame along the lines of, "I wouldn't want to be in a place where I wasn't wanted. Why not go somewhere where you're celebrated" (not verbatim, but the gist of my comments)-- and they got deleted for "transphobia"! What does the word even mean anymore? I know that they constantly move the goal post, but hot damn, saying that I wound't want to be in a place that I wasn't welcomed is now a fucking phobia??? Reminding people that there are countless gyms that never focus on sex/gender, or even reminding them that there are gyms catering to women that are "inclusive" (FUCKING GAG) to TIMs, and I was accused of being for segregation and a transphobe that needed to unpack my biases. Un-fucking-believable.

JoediMarch 12, 2025

I have unpacked my biases! I lovingly reviewed each one, giving my thanks for its existence, then carefully repacked them all for future use!

IsThisThingOnBig LezzaMarch 17, 2025

This one sparks joy!

salty-tomorrowMarch 12, 2025

How dare you even imply they might be unwanted somewhere!!!

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

Any comment that isn't blindly worshipping trans people is considered a violation in reddit's eyes

CharliXXMarch 12, 2025

not celebrating TIMs the moment they step outside (or more likely, log on) is trans genocide actually uwu so suggesting it could even happen is definitely transphobia

proudcatladydust under JKR’s fridgeMarch 13, 2025

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but Reddit can have whatever rules it wants. At this point it’s on us for continuing to go on there.

I completely agree, but it's a shame that such a gigantic website is brainwashing so many people

octopopcornopolisMarch 13, 2025

I’ve been perma banned since November for daring to talk about the Olympics. 😒

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

I was banned for TERFing ages ago. So i figured the scrotes in charge were still banning dissidents left and right

I'm surprised the Blocked&Reported sub has remained for this long considering what a boogeyman Jesse Singal is to the gender cultists

[Deleted]March 12, 2025

Men are a protected class, need to curtail those uppity women who dare make them feel 'less than'

LillithMarch 12, 2025

They're going to end up with no one to talk to but themselves.

SonnetMarch 12, 2025

Gestures broadly at lesbian subreddits.

HareMarch 12, 2025

I caught a 3 day ban and then I sent an appeal. They didn't reply to it yet, but they perma banned my alt accounts. I'm done

Jack_the_LassMarch 12, 2025

You can get around it by resetting your wifi, which resets your IP address.

Dressed2K1llMarch 13, 2025

Noooooo you are gonna get me in trouble 😈😈😈

PerenelleFlamelMarch 12, 2025

Reddit has gone completely off the rails. It has become such an insane place, I would actually say unless something drastically changes, it's quickly going to become a hub of terrorism, and I really don't think I'm being hyperbolic.

TRAs are goading each other on to real life violence, and it seems like the moderators are either complicit in it, or willfully ignorant of it.

JuiceLadyMarch 13, 2025

Reddit has always been off the rails. It’s only in recent history that Reddit tried to “clean itself up” for the investors, but I still remember a decade ago when Reddit was infamous for its connection to neonazi activities and pedophiles. It never truly shed that identity.

Dressed2K1llMarch 12, 2025(Edited March 12, 2025)

Reddit is a TRA human-centipede.

LadyCardTraderMarch 12, 2025

I got hit with a 2 day ban for what I thought were rather mild comments but ya. I blame that place and its hug boxing for all these insane Tims who think they "pass"

Lilith-FairMarch 12, 2025

I really hope Reddit doesn't end up being the buyer of Tiktok. I'm honestly not sure what is worse. Communist CCP or Reddit.

CharliXXMarch 12, 2025

I've never had a reddit account, I only post where the majority of commenters are female. But godspeed to the soldiers willing to go into the trenches with the neckbeards.

pennygadgetMarch 12, 2025

Reddit can be useful if you're looking into some niche subject or something that TIMs wouldn't want to colonize (my sister finds a lot of helpful support on the sub for caregivers).

But any female dominated "fun" sub (like something for fashion or hobbies or lesbians) gets colonized

vulvapeopleMarch 12, 2025

I've found it's useful for local stories that aren't big enough to hit the news, or, if they do make the news, news media invariably can't bother following up or do a piss-poor job of connecting the follow-ups to the old story.

Iota_AurigaeMarch 12, 2025

I use it to look at Inkarnate maps I know I could never recreate.

PinkPeoniesInTheRainMarch 12, 2025

I honestly don't know why anyone even bothers with Reddit anymore. It's a toxic cesspool of trolls and misinformation.

The only reason I ever go on the site is to downvote every single thread in the transpassing and mtf subs. (That's right, lurkers, EVERY SINGLE THREAD.)

ajukMarch 12, 2025

I wonder if that's why Reddit banned me, I had been blocked on r/libdem for "transphobia" because evidently they don't know the meaning of that word. However, I was permanently banned for posting on a sub I had been banned from on another account, and I'd forgotten I had been banned from that sub on my other account, but I got a permanent ban. The comment I was banned for was just me questioning if they supported Putin on r/enlightenedcentrism

SarahWilliams_13March 12, 2025

They do.

CuriouslyObviousMarch 12, 2025

Same here but I am also really fed up, I try to get women to see abuse in their relationships and to also leave the site... They don't like it...
