GC Social MediaA Few Alternatives to Ovarit
Posted March 22, 2025 by Womanwithopinions in GenderCritical

I'm a little devastated. Though I really wasn't keen on the direction this site was going in the last year or so. Either way, I thank the mods and the other women who made this site possible. Your work has been a Goddess-send.

There are some alternatives:

clovenhooves.org Covenhooves was created as an alternative to Ovarit because, unlike Ovarit, it is an explicitly radfem site. If you think this might be a good fit, check them out!

spinster.xyz Spinster is part of the Fediverse. It is a social-media alternative, and the posting style is similar to Facebook. Spinster was founded in 2019, and got a much-needed shot in the arm in the summer of 2020 when TRAs were successful (after years of attempt) in nuking the r/GenderCritical subreddit. This was also how Ovarit was created, because it was a response to r/GenderCritical's demise. Like Ovarit, one does not have to be a radical feminist to join. However, men who join may expect the same "welcome" they've found on Ovarit.

r/fourthwavewomen Some time ago, a new Radical Feminist reddit forum arose, and given the new pressure (both legal and illegal) on social media titans with the current US regime, this forum may last some time. Or we may find it is nuked as well when it continues to focus on feminism, not simply Gender Critical arguments.

https://saidit.net/s/GenderCritical/ This forum was also created as an alternative to the original reddit sub. It was fairly active at first, but went almost dead once Ovarit was set up and running. It still gets posts every few months ago, and users may find it can be revived. There was initially a separate forum for gender critical men, but I haven't seen it. Men on Ovarit may find they can revive it or a create a new one, instead of trying to get attention in women's spaces.

I encourage others to post alternatives as well. Perhaps mods could sticky this until April 27 so site users and visitors have some ideas? These are NOT easy to find with a cursory google search.
