This is something that honestly sometimes brings me to tears when I talk to people - it’s my biggest feminist issue. People are SO obsessed with making prostitution seem ‘like work’ or be glamourised that they have absolutely no idea (pretend not to?) about the reality.
I’ve always intuitively known these women are abused on a mass scale. I just googled it to back up my thoughts and literally the first result was this study which says 82% of prostitutes have been physically abused and 83% have been threatened with a weapon?? How can people ignore this and actually glamourise it??
What’s really scary is how this narrative affects naive young women. It’s almost promoted at female uni students as a ‘part time job’. My younger friend still at uni was seriously considering becoming an escort as she thought she’d just get loads of free fancy dinners?? No hun????
I was also saying how married men get prostitutes to do things they can’t do to their wives and she thought I just meant some kinky things and again I was like no, they want to ABUSE these women as they can’t abuse their wives. Need to let out that woman-abuse drive somewhere. She got upset and didn’t want to talk about it anymore, but I couldn’t not tell her about the reality she was thinking about going in to. Her naivety was beyond astounding. But is this what lib fems genuinely believe these days?
The whole issue comes back to the far-left contorting language again to fit their aims. I have always always refused to say ‘sex workers’. This new language is how they apply the same TWAW logic to say that trans women are a subset of ‘women’ and now sex workers are just a subset of ‘workers’. ‘Sex work is real work’. It’s apparently exactly the same as any job so leave these women alone to CHOOSE (vom) what they want to do with their bodies bigot??!!
Also the SWERF acronym never makes any sense: ‘sex worker exclusionary feminist’?? If anything, prostitutes are the women I want most in feminism. They are the ones on the front lines of male violence and depravity.
Why do you think this pro-prostitution has become so prevalent and glamourised?
Yeah, I remember when she went on Broyce's youtube channel and said "Nothing you can say will offend me." She also was gracious to Howard Stern who was making fun of her "female sex sounds" while she was doing a really humiliating sex act on his show at his request.
Buck will give a pass to men who correctly gender her, but Karen? Catty and cowardly potshots on Twitter at Karen and threatening to report her every time she calls Buck a woman.
Swear to god TIFs think they're such bros, but they let men walk all over them while acting like mean girls to women they dont like. TIPs are the epitome of the stereotypes of their actual sex.

I've noticed this as well. TIFs are literally Pick-Mes on steroids.
When you’re always at war with Eastasia, you forget all the times you’re not at war with Eastasia.
My amateur psychologist self says raising a fuss about pronouns is an easy way for her to lash out at critics (like Karen Davis) without addressing the issues these critics are actually raising.
She knows there are bleeding hearts on both sides of the GC and trans divide that would stick up for her on the pronoun thing. Much harder to get this support for her sketchiness with porn and normalizing puberty blockers in young kids.
I thought Buck was against childhood transitioning, which is about the only reasonable take there. Everything else is trans propaganda from like five years ago.
Buck says one thing but then says another.
Watch this video from Karen Davis, who is at the epicenter of the feud that spawned Buck’s tantrum. Long story short is that Buck voiced approval for dosing an 8 year old with puberty blockers in an interview a couple years ago. Minutes before saying this, she tried to posture like someone who has a problem with the medicalization of kids. It’s clear that she blows with the wind. I do see this as consistent with a weak sense of self.
Do we know that this is Buck's current position?
Hell, I was saying shit not totally against child transition back in like 2017, maybe even 2018, back when I assumed doctors still cared about the welfare of children.
Good question. Has Buck come out and said she’s changed her mind? I don’t know. All I know is that she is flipping out over pronouns and trading tweets with Aaron Terrell about Karen Davis’s sex life.
But I agree, having a change of heart would be an easy counter to this video.
Seriously, since that's the basis of the controversy, why doesn't she just say, "yeah, I said that, it was stupid nad I no longer feel that way"? The fact that she doesn't and makes a stink about pronouns and bullies Karen makes me think she is in fact still pro-child mutilation. In which case she's not on my side, so I don't give a shit what she says or thinks.
This is from May of 2021, and Buck takes a very firm position against:
Makes me wonder what’s going on with the 8 year old that possibly has resulted in a change in message.
If Buck has changed her mind about childhood transition since then, it would be easier to just say, "My position has changed since then. Please stop attacking me based on shit i said 4 years ago!"
This tantrum makes me think Karen was correct.
Maybe someone on Twitter could ask Buck to clarify. Buck has been really outspoken on child transition lately.
How to put this? Buck's support is welcome, but that doesn't mean they ought to be a leading spokeperson, when we're trying to appeal by suggesting that mentally/emotionally unwell people shouldn't be writing legislation.
Yes. I appreciate her honesty when it comes to the complications she’s faced regarding use of testosterone and her speaking up against transing children but disagree with her on the “true trans” mentality.
I feel this way about several of the HSTS who speak up as well. Their insight is welcome and I’m glad they have a platform to speak out but it doesn’t mean I agree with everything they say or view them as the opposite sex.
She once told Meghan Murphy "Nothing hurts my feelings." I liked that of her. I liked HER. It's sad to see this.
I always thought she, Mars, everyone at GDA were worth listening to. They are on the middle ground fallacy, but worth hearing out. However, since the middle ground fallacy is a fallacy, it's important to address that.
Idk if I got this exchange completely correctly, but if it is, it seems to me, Suzan mastered this part of male socialization quite well. It goes like: "Girl! If you want to have me on your side - and you want, because I obviously know better, what's good for you, you should be nice and obedient.
Well, I'm confused. I wonder what changed? Very disappointing to see from Buck.
Afaik she has always pandered to both sides, flip/flopping back between a more GC and more TRA view. She's clearly unstable and I wish GC spaces could stop paying her so much attention
Buck Angel isnt playing for both sides. She's playing smart and knows very well that the ideology theyre pushing basically destroys the entire gay/lesbian community. Theyre "HSTS". These types are basically ok with wiping gays and lesbians off the map. And this was inevitable in their eyes.
What's changed now is the battlefield is more complicated because there are new players involved. And theyre provoking the heterosexuals in a way because the vacuum that's meant to suck up all the gay/lesbian children to trans them (which Buck is completely fine with) has now shifted to hoovering up so many straight children that they've outnumbered the HSTS 10:1.
Buck doesnt want to take on the heteros and wants to maintain HSTS people and left alone to harm gays/lesbians without having to involve heteros in this.
It seemed to me that Buck always held a more middle ground position. But I never thought Buck came across as unstable before now. At least in the interviews I've seen. But Buck has also had a life filled with trauma, even before the involvement with the porn industry. Buck used to be an addict and street prostitute, so no doubt there are plenty of things that could have led to mental health issues and emotional instability. Buck is still involved in the sex industry, too, and that's obviously not good for mental health.
Buck is a she. You can use the she/her pronouns
I didn't use "he" pronouns?
I know and I'm thankful for that
Assumed you use her name, and not she/her pronouns, to pander to the TRA side
Yeah, that was an unnatural amount of times to mention her name just to avoid pronouns, lol.
I'm fine with using someone's name instead of pronouns, and I don't see why that's a problem.
why though? it's catering to the pronoun crowd, at least partially. You're acknowledging that she doesn't want to be called she. And I'm not trying to attack you personally, but I really don't understand why some GC people continue to do this
I tend to use sex-based pronouns here, but no pronouns at all for TIPs in mixed spaces, and it's not so much that I'm worried about backlash.
I think all trans people get a charge from being called fictional pronouns, but a very large number also get a charge from being called sex-based pronouns. The former gives them "gender euphoria"; the latter suits their persecution complex. The worst thing to a narcissist is to be ignored, and the worst thing to a TIP is not being able to think about gender for five minutes.
In short, when dealing with trans-identified people, the only winning move is not to play. One-on-one, treat their identities as meaningless as they are by neither catering to them nor outright rejecting them.
hmmmm. I see what you mean. Personally I rather use the correct sex based pronouns all the time tho. Not willing to make any special cases for them at all
That's fair. I've gone back and forth on this for similar reasons, but settled on acting as though gender identity is not worth acknowledging as a good practical approach. I'm also a little passive-aggressive at heart and get a giggle knowing that a number of trans people have expressed anger at their peers simply not giving a shit.

Same <3
That makes sense in mixed spaces especially IRL, I've thought of doing the same thing but it hasn't come up yet (thankfully).
Because using "she" does not come naturally to me when thinking about Buck. Pronouns in general have never been one of my main concerns. I refuse to use them for children or criminals, but otherwise don't really care.
It may not come to many, given she has undergone surgeries to appear "masculine" on the surface. Doesn't change the fact that is a she/her. Think of it as someone wearing "bunny" ears headbands. That wouldn't change the fact they are a human. Beneath the clothes, hormones and surgeries, Buck is a woman and will remain a woman till the day she leaves this world. She/her belongs to women, and he/him to men. They are sexed pronouns, and it's the usage of she/her for men claiming to be women and he/him for women claiming to be men that led to this mess. They became bolder with their methods. Let's avoid the first stage <3
Of course Buck is female. That's not in question. Pronouns just aren't my hill to die on. I respect your position, but I don't take as hard line of a view about transsexuals. Very few people in society are going to want to be that hard line about people like Buck, so I don't think it's a politically viable strategy either.

TRAs do not "control" language. Their goal is to erase language so that words are meaningless. It was "she/her" for man and "he/him" for woman, and now it's "man and woman are social constructs!". Our goal should be the opposite; the proper and correct language usage
[Comment deleted]
I don't subscribe to that 'do whatever you want'. By using neutral, no or male pronouns for a woman you give in to the TRA ideology a bit. Noone would ever have done that before the whole trans thing existed. I'm obviously not going to call the police on anyone for not calling Buck she, but how we talk has consequences. If you wish to disregard those then that's your choice but I at least be honest and say you're not comfortable standing up to TRAs. (and I mean that as a general 'you', not just you specifically.)
We're massively downvoted in this space LMFAO. Most members are no radical feminists. They may be GC. Even then, they are liberals and don't care about correct language. "Transgenderism" wants to f*ck with language, and they let them be as though that wasn't what got us into this mess. Give me a break

We're alienated as it is. GC and radfem spaces on reddit are banned. We can barely spread the fact that "trans men" are women and she/her on other social medias without being reported and outright banned. Humanity is an illogical specie. Falsehood has always been celebrated, and truth shut down. Downvoting us for our views on your liberal politics isn't going to do you any favors either
But I digress
Because you can't control other people's speech
Yes, we can. I'm no libertarian and do not believe in "the right to speech and expression". Certain speech and belief should be policed, as actions are. The TRAs, the religious, etc should be the one censored. Not the other way around. Most people sadly do the opposite
I believe everyone, even in individual conversations, should stick to facts. The fact is she/her is a pronoun indicating one is a female, and he/him is a pronoun indicating one is a male, and to use "he/him" on a female implies that is a male which is falsehood
Oh, I didn't mean it's a problem. Meant you can use she/her if using the name in every sentence becomes exhausting
Here's my theory, and it's just my theory, maybe I'm wrong: there's an overall feeling of hopelessness in the air ever since the start of around 2021...the longer the pandemic looks like it's gonna go on, the worse that pervasive hopelessness gets. it's worse than 2020 because in 2020 people still thought we'd be done with it soon. once everyone realized that we were still going to be stuck in this weird limbo for a long time, they gave up any attempt to hold onto their sanity and just let it dissolve. so much online time, so much poisonous exposure to social media algorithms, not enough fresh air and human wellbeing.
I didn't think of that, but it's a possibility. I know the pandemic has done a number on my mental health.
My guess is that it could just be a cult thing. As a former member of a religious cult, I know I suffered a great deal of cognitive dissonance where I would oscillate between two opposing standpoints. I wanted to appear reasonable in front of people outside the cult and accept some undeniable facts while still holding onto unreasonable dogma to appease cult members. It's a painful place to be in (interspersed with a few moments of trance induced euphoria) and I hope she desists and becomes firmly anchored in reality.
I suppose I'm confused because I thought Buck truly didn't care about TRAs. At least that's what it seemed like. Maybe it hurts not having their approval, but this isn't anything new. Buck's been on their shit list for years. Even if Buck did a total turnaround, they would never forgive.
I do feel for her and other FTMs. She has so many physical health problems, i hope we could also start a fund, considering this will be frequent in the future.
Susan? Buck's birth name is Laura
I think it was Susan, although Buck did also use the name Laura at one point.
I got it from Buck's tweets here
Maybe a middle name?
I can't tell. I did find this, but no idea how accurate it is.
Susan was a tomboy as a child in San Francisco’s San Fernando Valley. As a young woman she used the name Laura, and worked as model
https://zagria.blogspot.com/2011/11/buck-angel-1972-adult-film-maker.html
There's a ten year difference between Buck's reported date of birth in that source and the one in the tweet. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some misinformation for the purposes of anonymity floating around
Guess it must be pretty hard to keep things straight when you live a lie
