Speaking as someone who has 'learned the hard way', trapped in a grooming-based, abusive relationship culminating in assault and threats against my life at 16 (all of this stemming from porn and BDSM culture), I hope none of my generation have to learn the way I did. It's sad seeing feminists hoping for vulnerable girls to be abused just because we are taught that is the norm from birth. Please don't take your anger at the patriarchy and apply it to young women. We have suffered enough.

This is exactly why I get angry about the way the media grooms young women to romanticize abuse. A lot of my blog is centered around criticizing and unpacking the grooming of women through entertainment, but women want to mock me for not tackling "real" issues.

I'm sorry this happened to you. It feels like reading about yet another woman I and my generation failed to protect. I guess you can't save someone else from a sinkhole when you're in the sinkhole too.

It's not your or any other woman's fault that another generation of women have to suffer. It is no woman's fault, please never feel responsible. You must have suffered or experienced your own hardships, and nobody saved you from that either. If I hadn't experienced what I had, then I likely would have never uncovered radical feminism, nor the courage required to stand up for myself so in a twisted way I'm grateful. If you feel comfortable I'd love to know what your blog is and read some of it! Hope you have a good new year.
