QuestionMarrying a woman friend
Posted July 25, 2022 by Understanderson in WomensLiberation

I was curious to know if anyone has heard of any studies or even anecdotes about single women taking advantage of gay marriage legalization to form a household with another woman who is not a sexual partner. Pre-20th century, this was called a Boston marriage and was perfectly acceptable (if not codified anywhere legally). Some Boston marriages were lesbian couples, but many were not.

I've long thought it is weird that our entire civilization is built on sexual relationships when these relationships are not the most important or abiding in many of our lives. And in America, at least, people (women especially) are punished financially for living single (this article is from last year, but still quite relevant: https://www.vox.com/the-goods/22788620/single-living-alone-cost). Married people pay lower taxes, receive higher Social Security benefits and benefit lifelong from sharing living expenses and resources, which are edging toward being too expensive for a single person to cover on their own.

Given that we're supposed to be breaking everything now, I would think you'd hear about more friends getting married with no pretense of sexual involvement. Why are even liberals so intent, apparently, on keeping marriage sexual?

Williams replied: "It is, isn't it. They wanted me to kick a dog and I'm an animal lover, so I was just not having that. Then they said 'punch a pensioner' and I was like 'Yeah, I'm in'."

Wtf. Fuck this guy.

Yes, it's from some tv show, it's not real.
