I'm grateful to the woman who posted info here about the Matriarch Rising Festival. I did some digging into the Free Birth Society behind it and found some strong criticism of unassisted birth from women who lost their children in childbirth because of the practice, and I wish there was more content for crones (there's plenty for maidens and mothers), but there are other parts of the festival I'm really enjoying.
And as for the unassisted birth issue, I don't really feel like I have a right to say much, since I never had children. But I can understand feeling like you aren't supported by modern medicine, that's certain. Most women aren't. I certainly haven't been.
Anyway, it's empowering to listen to women talk about women's issues at the festival, so I'm glad I went.
