DiscussionPersonality Disorders

I've seen a lot of hatred directed towards people with personality disorders lately. So I have to ask, how do women with personality disorders fit into the feminist movement?

There's a lot of wise distrust of psychiatry on this site. But do you think the concept of a personality disorder is faulty to begin with? Do you think people with personality disorders are too broken and dangerous to be fixed (an actual opinion I recently read)?

Let me know! I'm interested in reading varied opinions on the subject.

(I put this in WomensLiberation because it's about certain women's place in the feminist movement. Hope this is okay.)

I've thought about making/joining support groups specifically for women. I figure saying "AFAB only" wouldn't make people mad because you can bring up how, objectively, "AFAB people" have different life experiences than "AMAB" people because of how society perceives them, but I've also heard it argued that those differences aren't "important" enough to exclude TiMs, so... :(

They will still complain and call it hateful.

Just reiterate they are open to TIFs, non-binaries, gender fluids.... Not trans-exclusive at all.

Vancouver Rape Relief is explicit in offering full services to "transmasc" people along with all other AFAB people. It didn't protect them.
