I only recently learned that women do not choose to play sports in scanty clothing. Rather they have no choice at all in this. These uniform requirements cause young women to drop out of sports which is so sad. It looks like there is fertile ground for activism here but I am wondering if anyone has seen or experienced this and hoping for discussion.
A personal story about the problem.

“Forgetting to maintain decorum while performing, I was possessed by my self-consciousness to pull down on the elastic that was causing me discomfort. Immediately, the sound of judges jotting down this “behavioral violation” was heard, as I would later receive score deductions because of this.”
A study in the UK.

An excerpt from the article linked above.
“Gendered sports uniforms play a “major role” in high drop-out rates of teenage girls in sport, according to UK research led by England hockey star Tess Howard, who found that 70% of girls dropping out of sport was due to clothing and related body image concerns.”
That sounds fascinating!
