I’m so sick of men being called out for shitty behavior, and the article listing their accomplishments at the end.
I couldn't really give a damn about some comment about women taking too long to do their make-up. I'd take a million sexist comments about make-up over one child rapist being allowed to compete, or one male boxer being allowed to fight women. (I know, I know, it's possible to care about more than one thing at a time. I know I'm indulging in whataboutery. But this is so tame in comparison to the other misogynistic bullshit going on at the Olympics that it's almost comical that this is where the line is drawn.)
I don't know. I kind of like that scrotes reading this are reminded of all they could lose.
I agree. And I also think it’s relevant in this case.
Mr Ballard has been a stalwart of global sports coverage since the 1980s, reporting on many Olympic games and World Championships. He has commentated on an array of sports including water polo, ice hockey and wheelchair tennis, but is best known for his coverage of swimming and diving.
I also think it’s important that women as a whole start learning how awful “respectable men” can truly be. I know it seems obvious to those of us here on Ovarit, but until women as a whole demand a reckoning, there will be no changes.
They could be a serial killer, and men would still get a blurb, with quotes from people who previously interacted with them about how wonderful they were to volunteer with at the local food pantry and building homes for disabled veterans.
How about they axe whoever's in charge of the female athletes dress code.
i noticed a beach volleyball team wearing pants! Still had a crop top but iirc being able to wear pants instead of just underwear is a new development.
I did too, they were skin tight leggings though. I've yet to see any wearing the baggier clothes that the men wear, but it's somewhat progress yes.
Ha, if he were talking about TiMs instead of women, he'd have been right instead of just sexist...
Yet the child rapist is still allowed to compete.
I'm glad the sexist commentator is out, don't get me wrong, but it feels like the powers that be just threw us some table scraps.
That’s what it feels like to me as well. It’s worthless to me that this man got booted over a stupid makeup comment when the press official who said “yes we are protecting a convicted child rapist” (verbatim) is still comfy in his position getting paid to say that. This is the article where he said it : https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cx721j6n6w3o
