DiscussionWhy is dancing not as lucrative as sport?
Posted October 28, 2024 by [Deleted] in WomensLiberation

I was talking to a male friend about sports and he kept going on about how womens sport just wasn't compelling enough for him because the men's game was much more high octane. I tried explaining to him that women werent lesser men- they were their own kind of being and had their own distinct biology with limitations and advantages and its compelling to me to watch them play sports in their own ways.

He kept getting stuck on " its a lower standard" And It occurred to me that there is a counter-example. Women dominate classical dance, don't they? They are better at ballet for example or bharatanatyam or any number of other classical dance forms. Men are more awkward to watch. And I can name a couple of male dancers I liked watching- Fred Astaire or Nureyev or Baryshnikov, Michael Jackson for popular music I suppose but I like watching women dance a lot more. Any day of the week I would rather watch Ginger Rogers or Anna Pavlova or Rukmini Devi or hell even popular dancers like Britney Spears. But ofcourse dancing doesnt pay as much as sport.

Why is that? theyre both activities requiring extreme physical perfection and effort. One gets entire broadcasting networks billions in advertising money. men who pursue sports get to make millions in brand deals and get paid a lot more. But when women succeed and dominate the dance industry- their reward is what exactly? where are the dance networks? where are the brand deals for the best dancers of our age?

Have I just missed it? do exceptional dancers really do well financially? are there networks that stream dancing competitions?

Should dancing be in the olympics?

Ok, I accept that he is trans. He still has to stay out of women’s intimate spaces. Thank you for understanding women’s needs

We need sex specific spaces. You don't have to understand, just trust women.

How come that doesn't work for us 🤔 what a mystery

Now replace "trans" with "Napoleon" or "Jesus"

Then why do they say 'transwomen are women' and try to pretend they aren't trans?

I accept that they believe that. It doesn't mean I have to take on their reality.

If it's my job then I expect compensation. It will cost $100/incorrect sex-based pronoun.

Brilliant! Using this the next time someone lectures me on any bullshit 'job' I didn't sign up for.

‘Do as you’re told, peasant’ never sounded so sickly sweet, eh?

Don’t tell me what to do, sir.

They'll reverse ferret on this when a TiP gets busted for doing something heinous, for example a TiM raping a woman. And then they'll demand laws against falsely claiming to be trans. And then a TiM will be denied entry to the women's showers, and they'll be furious about gatekeeping. And the cycle will begin anew.

First of all, you don't get to give me a job

This is truly the mantra of religion lmao. "just BELIEVE"

Why do I have to accept any reality that isn't mine?

In my reality, 'trans' means 'fake.' And I'll avoid the fake people just like I avoid the fake fats. As will many others.

So I guess it's their 'job' to accept that reality.
