I've been lurking here for a while and have seen a lot of women say that they feel politically homeless and they don't feel there's anyone who represents their interests in politics. But now that the most misogynistic, racist, rapist pig the world has ever seen has taken the presidency, these same women seem happy to sit back and take the TRA table scraps he's throwing you to keep you placated and distracted.
This is a moment of tremendous political instability in your country. Nobody knows what the USA will look like even a year from now. Everywhere I look, people on the left are begging for one thing: leadership. So where the hell are you? You're letting these sociopaths "save women's sports" with one hand while the other is working to ensure you never get to play organized sports again. If you step up and take the reins, you can shape what form the resistance takes.
I don't know if anyone here has read The Shock Doctrine, but I think the theory of disaster capitalism can apply to this political moment. The left is in shambles. If women, fighting for real women, can organize and come to the fore, you could rebuild the Democratic party from the ground up.
Or keep cheering for shit like the total repeal of DEI. It's entirely up to you.
