Hi, everyone, I know we are all scrambling to figure out how to have an Ovarit-like space in our lives now that Ovarit is closing. I've seen some Discord servers go up, mention of groups on reddit and saidit, etc. etc. All good options.
Here is what I can put into the pot. For years--long predating Ovarit--I've had a Google Group listserv where about 100 of us share articles relating to feminism more broadly and also GC feminism that we have found on the web that day. We run pretty centrist, pretty purple.
Of course, unlike Ovarit, there's no commenting function, so you'd just have to respond via email in order to comment on an article. But it's been a sturdy group, with posts of articles every single day. Google groups don't have archives, so you'd just have to save emails with articles you like.
If one of the main reasons you are going to miss Ovarit is because you'll miss articles from around the web you would never have found yourself, this might be a good resource for you. Of course, yes, you'd have to provide me an email so I could add you to the google group, but you could hopefully get a proton mail type of set-up if you are worried about privacy.
DM me if you want me to add you to the google group listserv. I'll be checking out who you are by looking at your posts and comments, etc., so that we keep a good and sane group. I've been on Ovarit almost since it's been formed, so I may have "known" you for years and vice versa, and that offers a level of trust, as well.
