House Democrats’ most common messaging strategy on trans issues, advised by McBride after the election, has been to treat Republicans’ anti-trans attacks as a distraction and to pivot to other issues.

David Shor said the same on his most recent interview with Ezra Klein. Almost toward the end of the episode "Democrats Need to Face Why Trump Won." SPOILER: It is an hour-long conversation in which two stats nerds agree not to face anything. Alphabetizing your houseplants may be a better use of your time.

Klein asked Shor, "What should the Democrats do?" and his response was literally "wait until closer to the midterms, then react to what the Republicans are doing at that time."

No defining a platform.

No coming up with three or two or even ONE visions of the future for any demographic group, most definitely not women but it's not like they're bursting with ideas to sell to young men either.

Just react and oppose from a position of already having lost. See the work waiting, but choose not to do it.

It's really sad. I am spending my time until the midterms demanding better.
